UNFINISHED FANTASIES (2021)

Some pictures at an exhibition of 2021 - gay and gruesome portraits portraying the first phase of that car-crash as enacted in the head and out of it. Horrible and hilarious, insane and serene, fascinating and frightening, compelling and corrosive on both sides of the internal/external divide, this is a photo album of a bipolar pendulum. These are unfinished fantasies because nothing is more unfulfilling than a fantasy fulfilled.

‘Unfinished Fantasies’ is Johnny Monroe’s seventh collection of poetry and his most comprehensive volume of verse to date. Assembled during the first six months of an extremely trying and testing year and covering a wide expanse of universal emotions, ‘Unfinished Fantasies’ speaks candidly to the human spirit as it swings from peak to trough and back again. This collection contains at least one poem with somebody’s name on it.
