I know why I’m here and I know who I am - novelist, essayist, satirist, poet. It says so above, so it must be true. However, the world is not so sure. Sometimes I go by other names. Am I one of those characters that used to be routinely mentioned on ‘Crimewatch’ - one of those ‘Mr Monroe is also sometimes known as…’ villains?
